Early in his college years this Ashland native developed a substantial talent for shaping clay. After graduating, Randy opened a studio and gallery ~ creating beautiful utility ceramic wares. For the next several years he focuesed his skills on designing and building fine homes.
One day he happened upon the work of renowned Raku artist Jim Romberg. Randy found Jim's technique with the Raku process facinating and inspirational. The idea of using clay, wood and architectural design was in perfect harmony with his own talents and experience.
Today Randy's commitment to the Raku method and innate creative ability are reflected in each of his uniquely handthrown pieces. Between family and teaching ceramics at Souther Oregon University, Randy Warren is quickly becoming one of the foremost Raku artists of the Pacific Northwest.
